Below you will find some general information.
Forms and online registration:
Emergency Information forms are to be completed by parents/guardians each year. It is important to be able to reach you in case of a medical emergency, so please ensure all information provided is accurate and complete on Skyward.
Class Dojo:
Make sure to download the Class Dojo App, we use this app to send important information regarding your child.
If your child is ill or injured during school hours, he/she will be assessed by a nurse. You will not be contacted each time your child visits the school nurse, however, in the event your child appears to have a serious illness/injury, every effort will be made to notify you. Children with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher and/or symptoms of a communicable illness will be sent home immediately. Please keep students home from school until they remain fever-free (below 100 degrees) for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications (such as Tylenol or Advil / Motrin) before returning to school. Children must be free of diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school and need to be eating and drinking without any problem. If a child vomits two or more times within 24 hours, they will need to stay home for at least 24 hours to ensure they are not contagious.
Please call the school nurse if your child has been diagnosed with a contagious condition such as pink eye, strep throat, chicken pox, head lice, impetigo, ringworm, flu or has vomiting and/or diarrhea.
Students may not carry any medication (prescription or non-prescription, including vitamins, cough drops, etc.) on their person or in their backpacks during school hours. All prescription medications must be kept in the original, pharmacy-labeled container, including the student's name, medication date, and dosage instructions. Parents may request a second pharmacy bottle for the school clinic. The medication must be hand-delivered by the parent/guardian to the school nurse. Whenever possible, medication should be administered outside of school hours. For medications like antibiotics, please administer at home. If your child requires medication to be administered during school hours, contact the school nurse.
Food allergies can be life threatening. The risk of accidental exposure to foods can be reduced in the school setting if schools work with students, parents, and physicians to minimize risks and provide a safe educational environment for food-allergic students. Provide written medical documentation, instructions, and medications as directed by a physician.
Texas Department of Health requires all school age children to be up to date on immunizations. Children are excluded from school until the required immunizations are obtained and a copy is given to the school nurse.
